Fenwick Girls Win Fourth Straight, Edge Barrington 4–3

The Fenwick Girls Hockey Team came out strong on Sunday night, taking an early lead in their matchup against the Barrington Fillies and holding on for a 4–3 victory—their fourth consecutive win.

The Friars controlled play early, firing 11 shots in the opening period and scoring twice. The first goal came midway through the frame when freshman Gabi Nitti fed senior Madi Strockis, who buried the puck to put Fenwick on the board. Less than two minutes later, junior Molly Wunderlich extended the lead off a setup from freshman Libby Boveri.

Barrington responded with two goals of their own—one late in the first period and another five minutes into the second—to even the score.

The back-and-forth action continued in the third period. Fenwick regained the lead when sophomore Lyric Bessey sent a pass to freshman Klara Novak, who found Boveri for the go-ahead goal. The Fillies tied it again early in the period, but Boveri came through once more, netting the game-winner off assists from Wunderlich and junior Kate Mulvihill.

Freshman goaltender Luciana Pilate was solid in net, stopping 17 shots to secure the win.

With the victory, Fenwick extends its unbeaten streak to four games. Up next, the Friars travel to Glenview to face Glenbrook on Sunday, November 30, at 8:20 p.m.
