Boys Varsity Highlights (02/16/2026)

Boys’ Varsity Hockey faced Deerfield last night at Franklin Park Ice Arena in their opening round game of the AHAI Varsity Red playoffs, and prevailed in a 2-1 thriller. The Friars were tied midway through the 2nd period when James Papp opened the scoring on a power play with a big shot from the point, assisted by Peter Hayes and Arden Tantaro. Deerfield answered with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd period, and it was back and forth until Jack Lotito tipped in a shot from Blake Zorovich (also assisted by Henry Schmidt) to seal the victory with less than 3 minutes to go. Sean Imburgia stood tall in net for the Friars with 20 saves on 21 shots. The Friars now advance to the Round of 16 where they will travel to and face two-time defending State champion New Trier Green. Date, time, and place of the game are TBD but will be announced later this week.
