Boys Varsity Highlights (02/01/2026)

Boys Varsity Hockey began their CCHL playoff campaign this past weekend against Benet Academy. On Friday night, the Friars hosted the Redwings at Ridgeland in Game #1 and lost 5-2 with a late empty-net goal against to seal the result. Friar goals were scored by Jack Lotito and Harry Sramek, with assists from Arden Tantaro and Peter Hayes, to tie the game in the 2nd period. Unfortunately, the Redwings attack proved too much in the 3rd period. On Sunday, the Redwings hosted Game #2 at Seven Bridges and sealed the series with a 3-1 victory. Braden Machon notched the lone Friar goal in the 3rd period, with assists from Henry Schmidt and James Papp, but Friars could sustain any momentum. Varsity is now eliminated from CCHL postseason play. They will begin their AHAI High School State campaign as the #15 seed in the Varsity Red division and will play a home game against #18 seed Deerfield.
