Varsity & JV Upcoming Games and Highlights

Boys' Varsity Hockey had a break over the extended weekend, but comes back to action against Brother Rice this Thursday night, 7:55pm at Southwest Ice Arena. Saturday night brings Game 1 of the Paul Hruby Cup (Fenwick vs. OPRF), 7:00pm at Fifth Third Arena. The all-time series is tied 2-2, with the Huskies prevailing last year in Games 2 and 3 to take the Cup. The Friars look to reclaim the title this year against their cross-town rival in the best-of-three classic. Ticket information can be found here; your support at this event makes a huge difference. This year, all 3 games will be played at Fifth Third Arena. On Sunday, the Friars will travel back to Southwest Ice Arena for a match against St. Rita at 5:20pm.

Boys' JV Hockey lost their first game of the year last Thursday evening against Carmel Catholic. The Friars ran out quickly to a 3-goal lead, but couldn’t keep momentum and conceded several easy opportunities to the Corsairs persistent attack. Friar goals were scored by Peter Hayes (2G, 1A), Michael Frytz, Matthew Draz (1G, 1A), Nick Ruggio, and Ryan Dine. Lucas White (3A) had a playmaker, and both Noah Merz and Alex Ramos-Shun chipped in assists. JV will face St. Rita on Friday night, 8:20pm at Morgan Park Ice Arena.
